My name is Olena Chepurna. I am a screenwriter, novelist, English teacher, and translator with more than 17 years of experience in storytelling, language education, and creative writing. I am Ukrainian native speaker and fluent in English. I specialize in writing feature screenplays, translating fiction, and creating original educational programs in which films and TV series are used as primary learning material.
My professional work includes the project “English with Movies“, over a hundred original English-language courses, the grammar teaching method “Secrets of the Algorithm,” six feature-length original screenplays ready for production and available for acquisition, as well as manuscripts of children’s books, novels, and an autobiography currently being prepared for publication.
My most significant accomplishment in recent years is the creation of six feature-length screenplays in the genres of drama, fantasy, sci-fi, and thriller. My fantasy screenplay “Wish Granting Factory” received international recognition and was awarded at festivals in Europe and the United States, including the Best Script Award (London) and the Chicago Script Awards (USA).
I hold a Master’s degree in Linguistics and Translation and an international certification in screenwriting. For more than seventeen years, I have worked with texts in multiple formats: teaching, translating, editing, and creating original screenwriting and educational materials. An important milestone in my professional development was serving as a judge at the Chicago Script Awards and participating in more than one hundred international film festivals.
My creative approach is based on structural precision, attention to detail, and deep psychological analysis of characters. In my work, I focus on themes of choice, inner transformation, personal conflicts, and the influence of the past on a character’s development, creating stories with clear logic, emotional depth, and strong potential for screen adaptation.
I collaborate with producers and directors from various countries and am open to co-production, script optioning and sales, representation, and industry partnerships. I offer original feature screenplays, story structure consultations, professional translations, editing services, and participation in creative projects. I hold a valid U.S. visa and am available to attend festivals and in-person meetings.
