About Olena Chepurna
I am a Ukrainian screenwriter, author, story consultant, and English language coach (English with Movies) with over 17 years of professional experience.
I was born and raised in Kharkiv, Ukraine. I hold a Master's degree in Philology, specializing in English and German translation.
I started my career in 2007 as an interpreter and English teacher and eventually founded my own language school, Learn English with Movies, which I ran for eight years. I developed my own methodology for teaching English through movies and TV series, using authentic dialogue, vocabulary, and real-life communication as the foundation of the learning process.
My passion for movies and storytelling led me to screenwriting and fiction writing. After completing professional screenwriting training in Ukraine and at Central Film School in London, I wrote seven original feature screenplays and two book manuscripts over five years and began consulting other writers on their projects.
Today, I combine both professional paths: I write original spec screenplays for the international market, provide individual story consulting services, and teach English through movies and TV series using my own methodology.

What is screenwriting consulting and how does it work?
Screenwriting consulting is one-to-one work with screenwriters and authors at any stage of development, from the initial idea to a completed screenplay. Sessions are conducted online in a one-to-one format. The approach and format are tailored to each individual project and its stage of development.
What approach do you use during one-to-one screenwriting consultations?
I use my own screenplay development and diagnostic system, which provides a structured approach to working with concept, characters, goals, conflict, structure, and story development.
What English courses do you offer?
I offer two main learning tracks based on movies and TV series: Conversational English, focused on developing natural speaking skills, and Specialized English for Screenwriters and Authors.
